Here at Tucketts, supporting the people and organizations who make a difference is the core of everything we do.

We believe in sustainability, fair wages, and responsible manufacturing practices. We know the world moves fast, but that doesn’t mean we can’t slow down and do things in a more thoughtful way.

From the moment Tucketts was created, we committed to embracing corporate social responsibility. Apart from sustainable manufacturing and supporting the well-being of the people that work for and with us, we’re also committed to giving back.

We’ve had the privilege of working with several incredible nonprofit organizations with inspiring missions — from global agricultural initiatives to access to affordable prosthetics and more. Many of our sock collections have been inspired by nature, and we chose the nonprofit organizations that align with the themes of each collection.

Since National Nonprofit Day was on August 17th, we thought we’d highlight the amazing organizations we’ve had the honor of partnering with over the years — including Move This World, The Honey Bee Conservancy, Sahara Roots, Oceana, the Dunn Corporation, and The Jordan Thomas Foundation.

If you’re feeling inspired to give back this year, we’d encourage you to donate and get involved with any of these charities below!

Move This World

Education is incredibly important to us at Tucketts, which is why we were so excited to work with Move This World. This nonprofit takes a unique approach to social, emotional learning by teaching kids movement and creative expression in the classroom.

With its roots in Colombia, founder Sara Potler LaHayne realized that conflict resolution and empathy were being taught out of a textbook. When she saw that the students weren’t engaged, she began her mission to launch training and resources for educators to get their students moving and participating in hands-on learning.

We love how this program helps kids express themselves in the classroom and form future leaders of the world.

Oceana

At Tucketts, we know there is no planet B. We’re dedicated to protecting our natural ecosystems and wildlife through sustainable practices.

Every year, an estimated 300,000 whales, dolphins, and porpoises die by plastic pollution and entanglement in hazardous waste.

Oceana combats the destruction of our aquatic ecosystems. They bring together scientists, lawyers, economists, and advocates to create real solutions to protect our oceans and beautiful animals at risk.

Restoring our oceans can also feed up to 1 billion people who depend on healthy seafood to survive.

Dunna Corporation

“Dunna” is an ancient word from the Arhuaca culture. Mamus — or Colombian cultural sages — use the word to refer to the positive energy of human beings when aligned physically, mentally, and spiritually.

At Tucketts, we live that balance in everything we do. Whether we’re getting on the yoga mat to re-center ourselves or prepping for a work meeting, we’re all about dunna!

Our partners at the Dunna Corporation promote mental health, emotional recovery, and skills building in communities in Colombia most affected by violence. To break the cycle of violence, they promote mindfulness, yoga, and family education.

During our Dunna partnership, we made a donation to the Dunna Corporation on your behalf every time you purchased a pair of Tucketts, allowing you to make a big impact on local Colombian communities.

Sahara Roots

In our search to create lasting impact, we’ve partnered with Sahara Roots, a charitable organization dedicated to preserving natural water sources with creative solutions like the Waterboxx

Across the globe, we’re experiencing a water shortage crisis. About 70% of our fresh water goes toward agriculture, leaving little drinking water for communities.

This planting device saves water and is made of 100% recycled products. It’s able to grow trees, shrubs, and vegetables sustainably in a single Waterboxx device for up to 10 years, even in some of the most extreme climates.

As far as sustainable planting technology goes, this is one of the coolest things we’ve seen.

During this initiative, every pair of Tucketts bought contributed towards our Tucketts for Trees Program. We worked with Sahara Roots to help replant trees in the most unique and dry areas in the world like the legendary Sahara region.

The Honey Bee Conservancy

If you’re not involved with a nonprofit organization yet, this is a great place to start making a difference.

Bees are an essential part of our ecosystem. Without them, we wouldn’t have apples, almonds, onions, and roughly 1/3 of our favorite plants and vegetables

Bees are also quickly becoming an endangered species in the U.S. But there’s something you can do to help.

As beekeepers notice drastic declines in bee populations, there’s an immediate need to restore the bee population to keep our ecosystem in balance. Their Sponsor-A-Hive campaign builds new bee hives and donates pesticide-free produce back to local food banks.

While working on this initiative, a portion of our proceeds of the Toe-tally in Bloom Collection went directly towards protecting natural bee habitats and sustainable bee sanctuaries in vulnerable communities.

The Jordan Thomas Foundation

In 2005, 16-year-old Jordan Thomas lost his legs in a traumatic boating accident in Florida.

When he got to the hospital, he realized that there were many other kids like him who’d lost limbs. And some of them didn’t have access to the prosthetics they needed to be active again.

What happened next was a lifelong passion to help kids overcome the loss of a limb by providing prosthetics and opportunities for kids to thrive. After working with the foundation, these kids get to go back to doing all the things they love most.

This year, we’re proud to donate a portion of every sock sale to this impactful organization. With every Tucketts purchase, you can make a big difference in the life of children who need prosthetics.

Feel Good and Do Good

We’re not your average sock company: Our toeless, grippy socks aren’t average, and neither is the way we run our company.

We have a deep passion to help nurture the planet, its resources, and its people with everything we do.

Whether we’re problem solving how to manufacture our socks using less water and more sustainable practices, or we’re partnering with amazing charities around the world, we mean it when we say we truly care.

When you buy a pair of Tucketts socks, you can rest assured that you’re helping support an incredible non-profit that’s making a difference.
